Attention Class of 2010 Seniors!

Photo 98 is on Facebook

We recently created a Facebook page for Photo 98 highlighting our senior photography.  We’d love it if you’d check us out and become a fan!  Just click below to access our business page.  See you on Facebook!

Greener Photography

For a long time Amy and I have worked towards being more earth friendly in our personal lives and also within our business operation.  We’ve made continuous efforts to reduce our energy usage and reduce waste.  We recycle and purchase recycled materials, and generally we’ve tried to do our part to make our planet a better place to live.  We also do our best to offer products and packaging that have minimal impact on the earth.

We recently became aware of an organization for like-minded photographers called Greener Photography.  Greener Photography is an organization dedicated to making the photography community more eco-friendly.  It’s a place for photographers like us to share ideas and learn how to be greener, to share resources, and to advocate for change within our industry.  We were accepted for membership recently based on what we’re already doing, and we’ve already learned some new things that we’ll be implementing soon and in the coming year.  We encourage photographers to check out the organization for their own businesses, but the information shared there is applicable for everyone, whether you’re a photographer or not.  So check them out, and see how you might be kinder to your planet in the coming year!

Behind on the blogging

Sorry, everyone!  We’ve been super busy and haven’t been able to keep up with the blogging as we should.  We’ve been swamped with weddings, portraits, editing, photograph orders, album orders, etc, etc, etc.  We have tons of great stuff to share with you very soon.  Until then, enjoy this photograph of me at a recent wedding in San Francisco.  Photo by my pal Cliff Brunk.  I was his stand in to check the lighting.  Enjoy!

We moved out of our studio today

That’s right.  You may or may not have seen our previous blog posts and signs at the studio that suggested that this was happening soon.  Today we officially closed the doors of our Peoria Heights location.  We had a great three years at that space, but it was time to move on.  Our main reason was to find something closer to home.  We are currently negotiating the terms of another space in the Germantown Hills area.  We’ll continue to keep you posted as our plans develop.  Our office phone number and email address will remain the same, so no need to update your contact information.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions.  Thank you for your patronage!

The website’s back!

We’re back online! All links and galleries should be working properly now. Thanks to our webhost for working on this over the holiday weekend.

Website is still down

I’m disappointed that our website is still down. My host’s tech support is still working hard on their weather related power outage issues. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you’re new to our site, please feel free to browse our recent work here on the blog, or you can browse our client galleries at the appropriate link at the top of this page. You can communicate with us via email at photo-98@sbcglobal.net or by telephone at 309.686.2189. Hopefully this issue will be resolved very soon!

Our website is down temporarily

It seems our website is down today. Our webhost is having weather related power outages, and so our website is down while they get their technical issues resolved. Hopefully we’ll be back online soon. Our client galleries are still online, so you can view those by clicking the appropriate link at the top of this blog page. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We can be contacted at photo-98@sbcglobal.net.

Photo 98 is moving?

Many of you have noticed our space for lease signs in our windows. The studio is still open, but here’s the explanation. Our lease there is up in July, and we will be letting the space go. Our tentative plans are to build our dream studio at our home in Metamora next Spring. It’s gonna be so cool. We can’t wait to reveal more information as our plans develop. In the meantime, we will be focusing solely on our wedding and location portrait work while we design the new space and save a little more dinero. Thanks to our wonderful clients for helping us make our dreams a reality. You guys are the best!

Website down

Our website seems to be down tonight. I’ve emailed tech support for my web host, but I do not know anything yet. Hopefully, everything will be back online soon. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you need to reach us, you can email us at photo-98@sbcglobal.net or call us at the office at 309.686.2189.

Edited to add:  The website is back up this morning.
