Zoo Run 5K

I ran my first race ever today.  This morning I ran the Zoo Run Run 5K, and exceeded my expectations for myself.  They tried to give me second place for the 20-24 year old age category, but unfortunately I’m not that young anymore.  I did not place in my actual age category.  But I could have placed first in the 60+ year old women division.  That’s gotta count for something, right?

Wedding: Amber + Jason

Ceremony:  Bethany Baptist Church

Reception:  The Par-a-dice Hotel Ballroom

Amy and I had a great time at this September 13th wedding.  Jason is the owner of DJ4U Entertainment, our favorite local DJ company.  You might expect a DJ to know how to throw a great party, and you’d be right in this case.  This party was rocking until the very end.  The excitement level was high.  But I think it helped that it rained 4 and 1/2 inches, and Amber and Jason purchased their rings from Bremer Jewelry (pray for rain).  Anyway, I thought I’d offer something different with this blog post, and show you what a great wedding party looks like.

On to the party.  Of course, no party is complete without good cake.

Some images from Amber’s and Jason’s first dance.

Party time.

I found our old clients, Andy and Camille, having a great time.  We first met Jason and Amber at Andy’s and Camille’s wedding.

Congrats, Amber and Jason!  We wish you both the best!

Engaged: Lindsey + Michael

I had a lot of fun yesterday hanging out with Lindsey and Michael and photographing their engagement session.  We started in downtown Peoria, and then headed up to Grandview Drive and found a bluff overlooking the river.  Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Wedding: Jessica + Ben

Ceremony:  Unity Church of Peoria

Reception:  Packard Plaza of Peoria

Amy and I had a great time at this September 6th wedding, and were a little surprised at how much fun we had.  Don’t get me wrong, we have fun at most of our weddings, but we weren’t expecting Jessica and Ben to party like rock stars!  Their reception was the place to be last Saturday.  Here are just a few of our favorite images, especially from the portraits that we photographed.  And as always, to see more check out their client web gallery in the link bar at the top of the page.

Congratulations, guys!  Best wishes to you!

Wedding: Bianca + Josh

Ceremony:  Morton Grove Legion Hall

Reception:  Casa Royale in Des Plaines, IL

I can’t believe how lucky we’ve been this August with our weekend weather.  It was absolutely gorgeous for Bianca’s and Josh’s wedding on August 31st.  I had an awesome time (and some incredibly good food).   It was definitely worth the trip to Chicago.  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.

60 years together: Kay + Duane

On Monday I had the awesome pleasure of photographing Kay and Duane at their home for their 60th anniversary.  They’ve been photographed together every ten years since they were married 60 years ago.  I feel honored to be the photographer they chose this time around.  Can you believe that they can still wear their wedding clothes?  We started with those, and then moved to a couple of other clothing choices.  I hope that Amy and I will as happy, in love, and full of life on our 60th anniversary as Kay and Duane seem to be.  Here are a few of my favorite images.

Engaged: Kristen + Mark

I photographed Kristen’s and Mark’s engagement session on Monday morning.  We began in downtown Peoria for some gritty backgrounds and then headed over to the Illinois Central College garden for a more organic setting.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Engaged: Agnes + Kenner

I had the pleasure of photographing Agnes and Kenner last Saturday in Evanston.  For their session, they decided to choose some locations that were special to them.  We began in front of Agnes’ old apartment where she lived when she began dating Kenner.  From there we walked to the pub where they had their first date, shooting in the neighborhood along the way.  I had a blast.  Judging from some of their images, they were enjoying it too.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
